Ash Wednesday What is the meaning of Ash Wednesday? As the first day of Lent, Ash Wednesday marks the day in which we remember that we are dust and sinners. Knowing that communion with God is the ultimate goal, we repent of our sinfulness and turn to God during the 40 days of preparation for the celebration of Easter Sunday.
