NOSTALGIA: it's delicate, but potent. In Greek,"nostalgia" literally means "the pain from an old wound." It's a twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone -a feeling of a place where we ache to go again. So very true 😣

awwwwwww i loved my patch ... grandad had to glue her head on when it fell off

Patch was Sindy's "rascal" younger sister and a bit rougher round the edges, which makes her all the more inspiring! These clothes are gorgeous and remind me a little of Clemmie's landgirl outfit!

pronunciation | ‘sau-“da-dE a nostalgic longing from something or someone that was loved and then lost, with the knowledge that it or they might never return; 'the love that remains'.

This is a Portuguese word that is untranslatable, but this might be close to understanding it's meaning. I know it's a beautiful word!

`“saudade” (or sodade in Cape Verdean, a dialect of Creole). It translates directly in English as nostalgia, but to a native speaker it has a much richer meaning. It is the deep emotional state of nostalgic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. Even deeper still, it describes the feeling towards people and things whose whereabouts are unknown…it is the love that remains in the space of absence.

Like wading in and ocean of memories. Each wave that crashes over me brings a different emotion. A smile delights my heart when I think of you and then I am awash in sadness that you are gone. Drowning in my tears. Waiting for the tide to sweep me away.
