"Backyard Ker-Plunk". I made this DIY Ker-Plunk game by upcycling an old end table I found on craigslist. We wrapped some chicken wire around the top, stapled it in place to secure, and voila! Homemade Ker-plunk! We got the wooden dowels at Home Depot and I found the ball pit balls on craigslist. But of course, you can get them at Walmart or Toys R Us. It's a ton of fun!
This shows the plastic water bottle effect. this shows how much of an effect water bottles can have on the economy and how much better it is to use reusable bottles. it also points out how 1 out of 6 bottles are recycled properly.
Making potions is an all time favourite. and so easy to do, Plastic bottles and funnels and plenty of water and powder paint or food colouring. This activity can cover almost every area of development in the Eyfs. What would make it even more exciting is if it was cooked up in the mud kitchen!! Role play, counting, measuring, colour recognition, language development, explaining and planning what to do next, sharing and many many more great learning opportunities :) v x
