I don't have this exact set up but its a really cool way to add space in the laundry room. Plywood as a laundry room counter top, just rub on some danish oil. (add a cheap rubber floor mat between the wood and metal to dampen the sound)
I had a piece of plywood cut to size, careful to measure to the appropriate depth for comfortable leg room. Then, it was attached using wood glue to the the shelf. Be sure you adjust the shelf to the right height!
There was no room in my basement shop to cut full sheets of plywood. I always had to have the home center guy cut it down to size with his panel saw. What a hassle. I wanted my own panel saw, but I knew there was simply no room in my shop or budget.
