Mary Clémenceau, by Ferdinand Victor Léon Roybet. Mary Plummer (1849-1922) was a student of Georges Clemenceau, in Stamford, Connecticut. They married in 1869 and move to France a year later. They separated in 1876, and when they divorced in 1891, he shipped her back to America and had her stripped of her French nationality. He was Prime Minister of France 1917-1920.
