One of the great joys of gardening, and in my case, container gardening for the most part, is propogating plants to either have some more of something you love, or to refresh a plant that has grown tired or unattractive.
Purple Hearts (Tradescantia pallida 'Purple Heart') has a very fast sprawling growth rate and is great for flower beds and groundcover! I have this in my flower beds and it is so pretty, grows fast and roots easily!
Purple Heart is a creeping perennial that grows about 12 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Spear-shaped leaves range from reddish-purple to nearly black. Light pink, three-petaled flowers appear in summer. It’s winter-hardy in USDA Zones
Setcreasea pallida, or purple Heart, is named for the striking purple colour of the plant in full sun. A wonderful choice for hot dry conditions. Makes an excellent ground and looks stunning when paired with yellow lantana or pink vinca.
