Happy little quokkas! Like other marsupials in the macropod family, the quokka (Setonix brachyurus) is herbivorous and mainly nocturnal. It can be found on some smaller islands off the coast of Western Australia.
Quokka is a marsupial found in Australia. They are known for their inquisitive nature – quokkas have only few natural predators, which allows them to be less fearful around other creatures, and, as it turns out, even approach humans for a selfie or a hug. Still, the species is listed as ‘vulnerable’.
