About the National Council. The National Council serves million people with mental illnesses and addictions through advocacy, Mental Health First Aid, and practice improvement.

Prevalence: The prevalence of Childhood Schizophrenia is about 1.1% of the United States population. Similarly, in other scholarly articles, I found about 7.7 people out of every 1000 individuals (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov) have been found to have Schizophrenia. Because this is a very small percentage difference, I consider it just as accurate. I have included this resource in the 'additional web resources' section of the worksheet.
