Watermouth Valley, Ilfracombe: Between Exmoor and Ilfracombe, on a cliff at the edge of Watermouth Cove, this site has amazing sea and sunset views from every pitch. Its sheltered private sandy beach has beautiful clear water. It's great for walking – the South West Coast Path runs through the site, and there's a pub round the corner.
Lantic Bay, Fowey, Cornwall, England. One of the best hidden beaches in England! To the west of wild Pencarrow Head, set just beneath the cliffs, walk down well made steps surrounded by wildflowers to discover two stunning beaches (Great Lantic and Little Lantic). At low tide there are lovely easy-access rock pools full of sea life and a good stretch of sand for playing on.
The cliffs above the beach are a noted source of fossils from the Jurassic period. Fossil-hunters walk the beaches between Lyme Regis and Charmouth, but have to be wary of tides and landslips. The Dorset and East Devon Coast World Heritage Site covers 3 geological time periods; the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous. These are showcased in the 3 rock types found along the coast.
OLD HARRY ROCKS | Nr. SWANAGE | DORSET | ENGLAND. These look spectacular from the sea. Once sailed with friends from Bournemouth along the cliffs in the steam paddle-wheeler "Waverley". Wonderful trip ! PDL 2016
