The Shamrock Hilton was a wonderful Houston landmark that's now gone. This is was their sychronized swimming team, The Corkettes.
Retro Houston · THE EMERALD ROOM of the Shamrock Hotel was one of the nation's premiere hotel ballrooms. It measured 103' x 103' with out any obstructing columns. It would seat 1250 for banquets and 1200 for meetings.

Patrick's Day in the Shamrock Hotel, at the intersection of Main Street and Holcombe Boulevard, held a grand opening party that to this day, remains one of the largest social events in Houston's history.
