You know Shel Silverstein as a children’s book author, but he was also one of the best songwriters of the century and had a big impact on country.

Shel Silverstein - poet, illustrator, song writer (1933 - 1999). Wrote children's poetry books Falling Up, A Light In The Attic, Where The Sidewalk Ends. Also story book The Giving Tree (any parent or BFF would love it). And songs including "A Boy Named Sue," "Sylvia's Mother" and "The Cover Of Rolling Stone." Being a mother of 5, I liked "Crowded Tub."
