The SKILCRAFT pen was launched in 1968, the result of National Industries for the Blind’s effort to assist GSA meet its need to find quality ball point pens. The challenge was to create a retractable ball point pen that can write continuously for more than one mile; can write upside down; will work in temperatures up to 160 degrees and as low as 40 below zero and that anything written by the pen can withstand 2 applications of chemical bleach. Challenge met!
Months ago I read about the classic, super durable Skilcraft pens made to amazingly detailed US government specs years ago. Last week I found an original in a box of my old treasures in my folk's attic.
The Skilcraft Black/Red Aviator multi-function pen includes Black and Red medium ball point ink cartridges and a pencil. The screw-top eraser fits tightly on the pencil top meeting all Foreign Object Damage (FOD) requirements.
