This engaging activity is great for subitising and learning the first 6 jolly phonics sounds at the same time! Students roll a six sided dice and cross the letter which corresponds with the number on the table.
Moonscape- bag of split peas & a bag of beans, sprayed silver. Moon buggy - dumper truck covered in tin foil. Astronauts - printed out photos stuck on toilet rolls. Rocket - plastic cup with craft foam top & wings, duct tape windows.
Phonics # 1 "I Spy Game" Provide small tangible items that students can group together with like sounds. (be careful with items and confusion: Spiderman and Cinderella, like pictured, may confuse a child)
: SHAKE OF THE DAY! The special student of the day gets to shake the bucket when they arrive at school to see if he/she can make a CVC word. If the student makes a CVC word we will share it with class, and he/she gets a reward
