Jostein Gaarder - Sophie's World - 403 Pages.  A long one, but more than worth it. I'm considering it might be my favorite book of all time. If you want a sublimely good adventure story that you'll never guess AND a 101 of the history of philosophy, then read this. If you just want a good book, then read this.
