Matt Hasselbeck guided the franchise to its first ever Super Bowl appearance in 2005, where the 'Hawks came up short to the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-10 thanks in part to a host of blown calls by head official Bill Leavy. During his ten-year stay in the Emerald City (2001-10), Hasselbeck amassed a host of franchise career passing records, the majority of which he still holds. As of 2013, he was with the Indianapolis Colts, backing up and mentoring future NFL legend Andrew Luck.
