Stretches are really important for the health of your muscles. Stretching allows more oxygen into the muscles and lengthens them making them more supple and flexible stretching the mass rather that being in one built up lactic bulk. I do a few of these simple quick stretches every morning when I get up and every night before bed and it's so far stopped me getting the horrific cramps I used to get and reduced the amount my muscles hurt after a gym session!
