Growing vegetables from food waste is a great lesson for kids and also makes great science experiments Teach students how to regrow food and pick a food to regrow as a class. Could use a food from a students leftover lunch.
Possible school experiment to show importance of wetlands/riparian zones! This shows the importance of plants in our soil. Plants like trees and grasses help purify ground water. Without them the ground water gets polluted and harder to clean and drink.
Use this as a basis to compile sample activities to do with students to conserve the Earth, these include: plant a tree, recycle, turn off the lights, and clean up trash. The others are good ideas to simply introduce the students to.
This is a fantastic idea that can be displayed in a classroom with students adding their own labels/stickers on it throughout the unit. It is a great way for students to learn about sustainability and eating locally!
