What a wonderful time we shared yesterday with some friends when we attended the annual Cherokee National Holiday in Tahlequah, Oklahom.

The gravesite of Mr. Ed in Tahlequah Oklahoma. This was NOT easy to find. It's in the backyard of a house that has been repo'd. The stone has fallen over and is in high grass. So sad =(

Ned Christie, Cherokee Indian. Cherokee County, Tahlequah, Oklahoma Adair County Oklahoma. The Cherokee Nation considers Ned Christie a heroic statesman who was unjustly accused of murdering a Deputy U.S. Marshal who was killed near Tahlequah, Oklahoma Territory, in 1887. A posse found him in 1892 in Adair County,  Oklahoma. After ensuing gunfire,  lawmen set fire to his cabin.  Christie came out firing at the U.S. Deputies and was shot and killed.
