The Bewcastle Cross is an Anglo-Saxon cross which is still in its original position within the churchyard of St Cuthbert's church at Bewcastle, in the English county of Cumbria. The cross, which probably dates from the 7th or early 8th century, features reliefs and inscriptions in the runic alphabet.

Amble, St Cuthbert's Church.
The extreme corners of the first and fourth panel bear the Bishop’s Northumbrian pectoral cross. By Stanley M Scott of Reed Millican of Newcastle. The artist was Stanley Murray Scott ( 1912 - 1997), chief designer for Reed, Millican & Co of Newcastle but the window appears to be undated. This artist refused to use anything other than hand made glass from Hartley, Wood & Co of Sunderland ( the artist's birthplace).
Northumberland Landscapes - St. Cuthberts Cross I've always wanted to visit #StCuthbertsCross at #Alnmouth in #Northumberland. Ive seen many shots of St.Cuthberts Cross on the hilltop on the southern side of the harbour looking back to the town across the mouth of the #RiverAln and the #AlnEstuary but always wanted to nab one for myself. Be aware though the track down to the dunes is somewhat akin to driving on the surface of the moon! We didn't stay too long because it was VERY windy cold…
