Lumberjills of The Women's Timber Corps. Having a mug of reviving tea in the middle of a workday. The Women’s Timber Corps was disbanded in August 1946. The 8,700 women of the Corps received no recognition, despite providing 60 per cent of the timber needed by the UK during the war. They finally gained a fitting memorial in 2007, when the Forestry Commission Scotland unveiled a powerful life-ize bronze sculpture by Malcolm Robertson. Much more at the link!
