Literacy help: Alan Peat story bags - How to develop story writing and literacy skills in younger children.

Early on in my teaching career I was introduced to Alan Peat's idea of using story bags to help children write stories. A brilliant idea that really works.

What a great retell/comprehension interactive/anchor chart to create with the class. They love seeing their work go up on the chart and it is great for their comprehension.

Character Description - my class were confused over adjectives to describe personality and adjectives to describe appearance. We wrote appearance adjectives on arrows and personality adjectives on hearts. Then we used these words when writing wanted posters for the wolf from The Three Little Pigs.
