MUD!  Calorific value to wildlife is enormous! Supports many organisms important for food for others - great stuff!!

Wandering (+ dog), May, morning (but public Wanders don't venture onto estuary mud re H & S, we stick to the view from a seat! If it wasnae for your wellies, eh?

Old willow trees, some broken, in a mass of gunnera and ramsons in ancient wet woodland. Green woodpecker often heard here now. Today a tawny owl was calling in the day. Roe deer drink here.
