EXPEDITION MEDICINE provide wilderness medicine courses in the UK and overseas. They provide training for expedition, wilderness, high altitude, mountain, remote and polar medicine practitioners. Participants do not need an advanced medical degree to come on these courses but the level of training is pitched at those with a strong medical background. The EML run a 4 day UK course in Keswick, a 5 day polar course in Norway as well as jungle, tropical, desert and diving courses.

THE BRISTISH RED CROSS, in addition to Basic First Aid courses, provide specialist courses for 'Outdoor Activity' and 'Expedition First Aid'. These are modular courses with specialist elements, including casualty handling. Specific modules cover key environments such as the tropics and cold climates alongside key activities such as caving, mountaineering, water sports and pony trekking.
Innovative, Systematic, Tailored Training
MARLIN TRAINING runs a variety of first aid courses from basic to custom courses for remote expeditions. They specialise in sports and outdoor first aid courses. Courses are run around the UK. Outdoor Activities First Aid is a 2-day course including splinting and spinal injury care skills. It exceeds the requirements of all outdoor national bodies. Expedition First Aid is a follow on 2-3 day custom course which can cover knowledge and skills appropriate to the group.

Located in the heart of the Cairngorms, it hosts a wide range of First Aid and Wilderness Medical Training courses run by BASP (British Association of Ski Patrollers), WMT (Wilderness Medical Training) and WEMSI (Wilderness Emergency Medical Training Services Institute).

PYB - All the first aid training provided at Plas y Brenin is offered under the authority of Rescue Emergency Care (REC). The emphasis on these courses is in practically based training which will provide knowledge and confidence. Courses include: Emergency, Mountain First Aid and High Altitude First Aid.

REMOTE EMERGENCY CARE, Medical Expertise, deliver concept based training in first aid and pre hospital care for rural and remote groups. Working with a range of clients, including expedition groups, outdoor instructors and rescue teams, Medical Expertise run practical, tailor made courses. Modules range from 'Basic' to 'Expedition First Aid' and are recognised and approved by the BMC, MLTB, RYA and BCU.

First Aid Training and Medical Care from Orion Training
ORION are registered with the Health & Safety Executive to deliver first aid courses to industry and commerce. They also provide first aid courses to the general public, specialising in outdoor pursuits and assisting exploration groups. Their instructors come from a wide range of backgrounds including mountain and cave rescue. Courses include: Emergency First Aid, Mountain First Aid, Advanced Mountain First Aid and Expedition Medicine. They also specialise in maritime courses.

ANDY SHERRIFF TRAINING is available to suit all requirements, from basic to highly advanced, high mountains to tropics. Courses are run as a progression of 2 day units. Current courses include: First Aid for Mountaineers and Instructors, Advanced Immediate Care and Expedition Medical Care. All courses meet requirements for National Governing Body Awards. LIFE SIGNS - A provider of Health & Safety Basic Life Support training as well as basic and advanced expedition medicine through the Expedition Care Program. ECP modules are flexible and cater for medically and non-medically qualified personnel. Modules last from 4 hours to four days. Courses include one day Explorer Medicine courses, 2 day Venturer and Exploration Medicine courses, 2 day Advanced Explorer courses and 2 day ECP Medic courses.

LIFE SUPPORT SERVICES provides a modular course for those going to remote areas. There is a basic course (2 days) and a choice of advanced courses (3 and 5 days). If there is sufficient demand the course can be arranged at a venue of your own choice and cost is by arrangement, depending on numbers and venue. The courses concentrate on practical skills in as realistic a setting as possible.
WEMSI provide three training courses; Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician and Wilderness Physician. WFR is a six-day course designed for participating in remote expeditions where evacuation may be complex. WEMT is for practitioners providing medical and trauma pre-hospital care in remote environments. WP teaches doctors to provide on-line medical advice by radio and telephone to first-aiders / EMTs in the wilderness environment.
First Aid Training during COVID 19 - First Aid Academy
ADVENTURE FIRST AID runs courses specially designed for expedition leaders, teachers leading journeys, Duke of Edinburgh coordinators, Gap year travellers. The Academy delivers the nationally recognised Outdoor Emergency First Aid and Incident Management first aid course (16 hour courses approved by the QCA). Course content also covers first aid course validation of NGB awards.

MOUNTAIN TRACKS - Avalanche training run a number of courses throughout the year giving participants the opportunity to learn the skills and techniques necessary for safe mountain adventure. FRONTLINE MEDICAL SERVICES - four-day courses for medical professionals who wish to take on the role of medical officer on expeditions to remote areas. Training on all aspects of expedition medicine with emphasis on pre-trip planning, casualty management and casualty evacuation. Instructors have backgrounds in medicine, pre-hospital care, rescue and expedition management. Specialist vehicle extrication and a full day of outdoor casualty scenarios and rescue training is provided.
