Castlerigg Stone Circle Helvellyn, Lake District -- I've already been here, but it'd be nice to see it in the sun, rather than the bucketing rain :p

Helvellyn, Lake District, England

Love to get out walking, climbing, breathing in great gulps of fresh air

Striding Edge on Helvellyn, Lake District. Helvellyn is the third highest fell in the Lake District and one of only four over 3,000 feet. Of course, the best way to get up there is to climb via the finest ridge in the District, Striding Edge! Wainwright describes this ridge linking Birkhouse Moor to Helvellyn Plateau as "... all bare rock, a succession of jagged fangs ending in a black tower". Striding Edge can be a challenging route for many walkers.

Including a circuit of Red Tarn over Striding Edge and Swirral Edge on any climb of Helvellyn is probably the most popular big walk in the Lake District
