You'd think that treating our members to the best summers of their lives, providing them with a memory bank worth of memories to reflect and bask on for eternity would be enough. Right? Not for HDUK in 2014/2015! This year's Membership Pack (Sent out to all Mas Chaver Payers) have received this incredebuolous Habo Dror Gift Pack. Jot those Peulot ideas onto our Habo Dror Endoresed Recycled Writing Pad with our Recycled Denim Pen, but make sure you don't lose track of time to help the Jewish…
We've been harking on about them all year! The Shnatties this and The Shnatties that..lardidadada. It was very fortunate then that Mitch and Gary were passing Gatwick Airport when this hairy and ideological lot were waiting after their incoming flight from Tel Aviv. Take a good look at these majestics souls - they're the future of HDUK.
This picture does exactly what it says on the tin! With a grand tour spanning North Manchester, South Manchester and Leeds in 6 days, our Israel Tour Co-Ordinator reached all parents of Habo Tour Participants this Summer to tell them everything there is to know about the best Israel Tour Programme out there. #choosehabotour
Surely Habo Dror are doing everything we can do each Summer? PAH! Think again. We revealed our Manchester Summer Scheme this month for everyone in Years 5-7. With over 40 sign-ups within the first 48 hours, we might need the army to accompany us at Yeshurun Synagogue come July.
May saw the official re-launch of our World Famous Magazine, Koleinu. The 20 page publication contains everything current in HDUK 2015 - including Movement Worker Updates, Poetry, Bogrim Articles and even a section getting to know our Supreme Leader, Gary Sakol.
Maybe we should just stop growing now in London? Nah, LET'S CARRY ON! The last weekend of April saw yet another London Shabbaton for our Southern Contingents. 20 chanichim travelled to an exciting location in Essex to participate in the best weekend of their tiny lives. See you all on Efrochim 2015! Woop Woop
Habo Dror in 2014/2015 has spoken of revolution and re-writing the history books of our glorious movement. Sunday 25th April lived up to that and played host to our first ever 'Fright Night' at the Manchester Habo House. SEVENTY, YES, SEVENTY chanichim descended upon our Bayit for an evening of scares, scars and Jamie Wagman dressed as a clown.
The annual UJIA Super Sunday saw our Movement Workers commute to Camden Town to raise some money for everyone's favourite organisation, the UJIA. Talya, Jamie and Mitch used their savvy phone skills to rake in over £600 for the cross-communal organisation. As always, it's the least we could do for an organisation that does so much for us!
Yom Ha'atzmaut saw Habo at the centre of major community events in both Manchester and London. In Manchester, our first year madrichim ran a stall at the community event at the Maccabi Centre. And in London, our movement workers ran 2 sessions at the infamous JCOSS school, where, its safe to say, the students love our movement worker from down under, Mitch.
April 2015 will live long in the hearts of the Movement Work Tsevet of 2014/2015 as our supreme leader, Gary Sakol, officially tied the knot with his wife in a sun-soaked Edinburgh. We wish Gary and Bianca a life time of happiness and we look forward to sending them an XXXXXXS Chultzah when Sakol Jr is born.
April saw the dual commemoration of Yom Hashoah and Yom Hazikaron in Jewish Communities around the UK. Habo had a representative at each one and we were honoured to be asked to light the memorial candle at both of the Manchester Yom Hashoah and Yom Hazikaron Tekkesim(ceremonies).
18 Year 7 students came over to the house to make their own pizza and participate in a quiz show about Israel. What could possibly go wrong? Anyway - 2 hours, 10 pizzas and 3 madrichim later, the chanichim had an absolutely unbelievable time and the evening got them super excited for Ofarim 2015!
April got off to an absolute flyer when we hosted our Annual Zero Seder at the Habo House. 26 Madrichim of all ages came over for an evening of matzah, haggadah and orange.Local MP Ivan Lewis even popped in to join in the pesachtivities!
One of the highlights of our week during March was our visit to North Cheshire Jewish Primary School on a Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesdays we run activities for Years 3-6 on alternate weeks, and as you can see, they have Habo pumping through their veins. See you on Shnat 2022/23...
HDUK is proud to boast SIX kenim nationwide currently, and one of our biggest achievements has been the sustainable growth of our South Manchester Ken. We have had over 50 chanichim through the doors of Yeshurun Synagogue during this month. #growth #growth #growth
March also saw the launch of the Habo Dror Tour Process for our super-human tsevet of Sammy Lee, Jamie Wagman and Daniel Crook. The madrichim partook in the UJIA Tour Madrichim Seminar in London where they began thinking about some of the incredible things they're going to bring to HDUK Tour this summer! #choosehabotour
