A Fairey Battle warms up-possibly 3 Squadron RAF Biggin Hill.Wears Type B roundel on fuselage as well as upper wing surfaces.Assumption is that Type B is on all 6 surfaces as originally specified when Type B first came into use with RAF.This Battle employed to help pilots with conversion from Gloster Gladiators (seen in background) to Hawker Hurricanes in May 1939.Battle would soon demonstrate its terrible fighting capabilities in Battle of France,& be relegated to training roles in Canada.

Fairey Battle by Tim Prosser - was salvaged from the interior of Iceland in where she'd been laying since 13 September 1940 when she made a forced-landing on account of an engine failure. RAF Binbrook Heritage Centre are holding an open day on 26-27 June 2010. There will be over 40 unique photographs on display as well as other WW11 memorabilia.
