The Glasgow School of Art is a public institution that dates back to 1845. They held a design competition for their new building in 1896. A young draughtsman (draftsman) of the firm Honeyman and Keppie won the competition. Unfortunately (or fortunately as we may look at it now) the school did not have enough funds to complete the entire plan, and only the central and eastern wing were completed.
