Hanging with Dante. Can you spot my influences yet? If you look askance at a Rossetti the light solarises off the paint application and reverses sections out. The image transforms conventional colour representation disappears. The gloss and matt of the medium can be seen. The brushwork direction finds a new equilibrium. Its as if there is another secret painting inside. Its a moment thats only experienced in the flesh of looking at the painting as a 3 dimensional object made of earthly material.
