A walk through the woods … As we entered the woods the sun was just starting to peek through the leaves, creating a magical mist as it gently burnt off the early morning dew. The beautiful scent of fresh pines and bird song carried on the breeze … what a wonderful way to start the day. Café And Bike Hire In Glenlivet …

It finally feels as though everything is bursting into life again. The landscape is so green, the birds are singing, our chickens are laying well and the fruit trees are in full bloom. We’ve also been making good progress in the Polycrub, building boxes and filling them up. So much so, that I’m planning on popping our young plants in their beds today. I’m so excited I can hardly contain myself … I love getting my hands in the dirt, it’s my happy place, my peace. I’ll share some pictures of our P

Walks Near Ballater - Scotland.

Going a little further afield at the weekend, we headed off to the forest at Cambus o'May, near Ballater. It’s a great place to walk, and with three routes to choose from there’s something for everyone. We chose the ‘Two Lochans Trail’, which is a 2.5km circular walk through the pines. The route has some steep up and downs, but definitely offers some pretty views over the Deeside countryside. We were serenaded by bird song the whole way round, and the weather was kind to us. A Walk To The Lecht Mine Near Tomintoul … 🥾

Well the snow is slowly melting and we’re getting the odd sunny day here and there … which is fantastic. I’m definitely ready for the arrival of Spring, and I’m itching to get out in the garden again. I’m going a little stir crazy stuck indoors … 🤪 Anyway, the weather was kind to us this weekend, and we headed out for our first trip of 2023 to the Lecht Mine, near Tomintoul. Our First Wild Walk Of 2023 😊

Every minute of extra daylight is just fantastic, and we’re trying to take advantage of it whenever we can. 😊 We all enjoy wild walks, so bundled up we headed out the door for a wee wander by the river. It was so nice to get out of the house and have a change of scenery, breathe some fresh air … albeit a little chilly. Henry dog had a great time, he really enjoys his trips out, and the boys had loads of fun skipping stones on the water. As the sun set and fell behind the hills, we strolled back

Around Glenlivet 🌲⛰

Just a quick snapshot of the River Livet, and the beautiful Old Bridge of Livet. It’s definitely one of my favourite places to just sit and listen to the river flow … 😌 It’s located about a mile from the Glenlivet Distillery, which makes it very easy to combine a visit to both if you’re in the area. A Beautiful Walk Through the Woods - Grantown on Spey.

Just a wee wander around the woods at Grantown on Spey. It was such a lovely walk, with the birds singing and the sun cascading through the leaves above. Not soul in sight … so relaxing, and great to be outside again after a long cold winter.
