Join us at the Kimberly Library September 12, 19, 26 from 3:45-4:30 to learn basic sign language. The program is geared for children K-6 and will cover letters, numbers, colors, days of the week, question words, basic sentences, and frequently used signs in school.

I'm almost positive this is British Sign Language because most of the letters use two hands whereas ASL only uses one hand for every letter.

Non-native Mommy: MAKATON - sign language

Makaton: This uses signs, symbols and speech to communicate with people who cannot communicate effectively. It is important because it has proven effective and can connect people who may not have had a chance before.

SEN schools use Makaton sign and it can be really useful to know and use some of these signs in your teaching- supported with saying the word verbally too.
