Hawksley Bungalows, Ellesmere Port. To provide a sustainable thermal upgading solution for 104 Hawksley-type prefabricated bungalows, built as temporary accommodation in the 1940s. The solution should involve minimal disruption to residents. A brick finish was preffered to match local architecture and give the properties a solid appearance.
Kitfield Avenue, Middlewich, Cheshire. To thermally upgrade and refurbish a number of old, costly-to-heat, solid wall properties to reduce heating costs and eliminate damp issues. The properties were located within an avenue of mixed social housing and privately-owned homes, and it was important that the visual balance of terrace architecture was maintained.
Blacon Towers, Chester. To upgrade the thermal performance of three 13-storey residential blocks as part of a major regeneration scheme in Chester’s Blacon District. The project was also required to upgrade the visual appearance of the old no-fines concrete structures, with minimal disruption to tenants.
Dee Cottages, Flint To refurbish and upgrade 42 brick- built terraced cottages to provide sustainable management and performance in line with current building regulations, whilst preserving their distinctive architectural character.
