ABOUT THIS IMAGE
Taken February 5th, 1865. Gardner's Gallery, Washington D.C, United States
(Library of Congress)
"This photograph is one of most iconic portraits of the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Taken shortly before his assassination in April 1865, Lincoln wears his trademark Brooks Brothers suit, with other references coming from a photograph of the actual watch seen in the image (the hook is identical) and period references for the other props in the portrait."
– Jordan J. Lloyd
This historical photograph has been meticulously researched and rendered into colour from a black and white original by a skilled artisan, continuing a craft tradition that has existed since photography began.
"Abraham Lincoln, three-quarter length portrait, seated and holding his spectacles and a pencil."

Abraham Lincoln Springfield Brick
Above: Front of the Specimen Card During his life, Abraham Lincoln only owned one home: 413 South Eighth Street in Springfield, Illinois. The Lincoln family moved to the property in 1844 and the building would be their home through highs and lows in both family and political life. This specimen is a fragment of brick from the walkway of that home. The brick was removed during renovation work in 1954. Originally, part of the First Edition of the Mini Museum we are proud to offer it once more as a stand-alone item. Above: Macro image of brick specimen preparation in-process. Each hand-cut brick fragment is encased inside an acrylic specimen jar and presented in one of our classic, glass-topped riker display boxes. The size varies but on average the fragments measure 1 x 0.5 x 0.5 cm. The riker display box measures 4 1/2" x 3 1/2". A small information card is also included, which serves as the certificate of authenticity.
