Halifax is steadily reworking its stately buildings from its days as a textile boomtown to meet 21st-century needs. Julia Buckley went and found old properties living on as bars, offices and shops.

This warehouse, situated between Horton Street and Church Street, was built in 1861. Like many buildings of this type changes in supply and demand have meant it is unsuitable for its original purpose and stands derelict.
