Spring and flower science bulletin board idea: Love this growing plants display - very creative!!! Could do one main flower (sunflower) stem out of a pool noodle and students' art along with it- very cool idea.
Bug Jars. Talk about insects - maybe go on an insect hunt with magnifying glasses. Do sketches outdoors and then come inside so students can create their insect jars. I love the idea of displaying them like they're on shelves.
Behavior tracker?? I am thinking to have each child make a bee jar, each time the child is caught 'beeing' good, a piece of pollen will be awarded, when jar is full the collected pollen can be exchanged for something sweet as honey...
insects: line drawing (pencil then pen) paint whole page with white tempera, outline with soft graphite pencil, smudge lines to create shading, colour background with chalk pastel, tap and use Kleenex to smudge off excess chalk (process from Jeremy Mayne)
