I took this for a potluck - it was well received. The best reception, however, was from my Italian husband who pronounced it, 'better than Nana's.' I added a teaspoon of vanilla and used a substitution for marscapone cheese. Our store didn't have any. The substitute was 8 oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup of sour cream, 1/4 cup of heavy cream. Blend that together before adding it to the ricotta.
