.....rugby player. Seriously, who else? Jonny Wilkinson will always be remembered as one of the most consistent kickers ever. His World Cup winning drop-goal still send shivers down my spine. He was so good that if there was a kick on the half way line you'd think he would score. And he did.
.... beer. There's so many great world beers I've tried and still so many I haven't. But there's nothing quite as satifying as drinking an ice cold Italian Peroni... or a few. The glass is great and it's a beer you can enjoy with a meal or out down the pub. If I had to choose a beer for it's crisp, refreshing taste and pure style, it would be Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
....England goal. Because of the occasion, the execution of the goal, and the fact it was really the first tournament I had seen England do well in, Italia 90 was a little too early for me, Gazza's goal against Scotland in Euro 96 was a piece of genius by one of the best English players of his generation. The dentist chair celebration further added to the memorable moment.
.....Pompey player. Paul Walsh. Contrary to popular belief, I do quite like Pompey and I have seen them play far more times than any other team. Walsh was my favourite player when I was younger because of his jinky runs and skillful flicks. Easily the best player I have seen at Fratton Park for Pompey.
.....England moment. England beating Germany, in Germany 5-1. We went 1-0 down and everything looked gloomy. Then up steps Owen with a hat-trick, Gerrard and of all people Emile Heskey. Sven Goran Erikkson's England never looked as good again. Had a celebratory Guiness after the game with my father-in-law.
