Our Fun Homeschool: Number Line Jumping--Great for teaching counting on, addition and subtraction and greater than/less than

Number Line Jumping: Great for teaching counting on, addition and subtraction and greater than/less than. Love the idea of writing numbers on the plates to easily change the type of number line - include percentages & decimals.

It's good for children to compare their height with other things - why not animals?!

Toddlers, preschoolers, tweens, and adults can measure themselves and see which animal is the same height as them, and also read facts about the animal! Great to use when you read "Actual Size" by Steve Jenkins.

Fun way to introduce the concept of addition

A fun way to encourage addition math skills with cups and paper towel or toilet paper rolls - students can build their own adding machine

I love these ladybird counters! Made using: bottle tops, a permanent marker and some googly eyes. Perfect for counting, game counters or what about sorting?

Bottle top ladybugs (turn into math game by varying the # of spots, write numeral on bottom for self-checking) I'd use plastic bottle caps for this.

First Grade Wow! Divide into 2 groups & sit on either side of large work mat. Each team has to roll a die & count down from 20 that many spaces. Put markers on each number as they count down. Team that gets to finish line 1st wins. Great subtraction practice!
