You can use good Prosecco (Italian sparkling wine) rather than Champagne for this recipe, and quite honestly, you'd never know the difference. Also, you get great results from puréed peaches or even strawberries instead of pomegranates, but I always think it's best to stick to what's in season.

There's one really good reason to make this – chocolate! It's what makes the world go round, especially for my girls, they'd go mad for this. You can make it a few days before then just pimp it up with the accompaniments at the last minute. This is also a good one to do with the kids, as they can get involved in all the prep.

This pudding is delicious and, because you are making the ice cream yourself, great for dinner parties. Don't worry though, you'll see it isn't at all difficult to make. If you are really short of time, you can leave the homemade ice cream and opt for a good-quality, shop-bought vanilla ice cream instead. PS You HAVE to go for full-fat yoghurt in this recipe or you'll get loads of ice crystals and it won't taste as nice

Jamie's Banoffee Sundae Recipe makes a delicious dinner party pudding, with bananas, toffee sauce, rum, hazelnuts and home-made ice-cream!

I recently had this fantastic drink at my mates Arthur and Jamie's restaurant (Acorn House in London, worth a visit). Not only was it a refreshing start to our meal, but it also reflected the rhubarb season brilliantly. You can buy some half-decent sparkling wines and Proseccos with reasonable price tags these days, so this recipe makes you feel like you're having a bit of affordable luxury. It's based on the classic bellini, which is made by mixing Prosecco or Champagne with a peach purée…

Easy and delicious trifles that are ready in double quick time.

Quick individual strawberry and vanilla trifles

Smoothies are usually the easiest way of encouraging your kids to try different types of fruit. Simply decide on a good combination of flavours, whiz it all up and drink! Kids will love to get involved with making these as well because they can chuck it all in and blend it up themselves. Once they know what to do, put them in charge of making smoothies for the whole family at breakfast time.
