You can use good Prosecco (Italian sparkling wine) rather than Champagne for this recipe, and quite honestly, you'd never know the difference. Also, you get great results from puréed peaches or even strawberries instead of pomegranates, but I always think it's best to stick to what's in season.

Wicked Champagne cocktail

Wicked Champagne cocktail This champagne cocktail is with freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and it works great with Prosecco too, or try it with peaches and strawberries. The combination is wicked but the taste is incredible tasty!

There's one really good reason to make this – chocolate! It's what makes the world go round, especially for my girls, they'd go mad for this. You can make it a few days before then just pimp it up with the accompaniments at the last minute. This is also a good one to do with the kids, as they can get involved in all the prep.

This pudding is delicious and, because you are making the ice cream yourself, great for dinner parties. Don't worry though, you'll see it isn't at all difficult to make. If you are really short of time, you can leave the homemade ice cream and opt for a good-quality, shop-bought vanilla ice cream instead. PS You HAVE to go for full-fat yoghurt in this recipe or you'll get loads of ice crystals and it won't taste as nice

I recently had this fantastic drink at my mates Arthur and Jamie's restaurant (Acorn House in London, worth a visit). Smoothies are usually the easiest way of encouraging your kids to try different types of fruit. Simply decide on a good combination of flavours, whiz it all up and drink! Kids will love to get involved with making these as well because they can chuck it all in and blend it up themselves. Once they know what to do, put them in charge of making smoothies for the whole family at breakfast time.
