"How Tall am I?" Flower Sprouts with the kids' names on the flowers. This would be great as a beginning and end of the year activity! I can just imagine how much the kids would giggle over their comparisons :-)

Height Chart

We had a lot of fun doing a height measurement chart with the kids today. The kids chose yarn and flower colors and we saw just how much they've sprouted! Inspiration for this chart came from Learning and Teaching with Preschoolers. They also link some other very interesting looking measurement activities! I was also inspired by their basket of measuring tapes, so I included the only one that I could find and added some strings, some taller and some shorter than their bodies. Let's just see…

What a magical time we've been having this week watching our Magic Beans grow. After planting the beans on Monday they grew a bit everyday. I posted a 'wonder' about would would grow and encouraged the children to imagine. They drew pictures of apple trees, pancake trees, paper, sun, flower and more. By Thursday they had grown with fluffy balls on top. What fun it was to watch the children's surprised looks. And come up with more ideas of what would grow. This morning there were lollipops…
