'Living Wild' With Century Hunter-Gatherers - Feature Shoot

The Tassili NAjjer rock carvings and wall paintings in modern Algeria show a picture of a world in the Sahara that we would not recognize. Instead of vast gravel plains and lakes of sand, there are highly realistic scenes of people harvesting the fruit of date-palm trees, a village with a herd of cattle, people defending their flock of sheep from a lion attack, and scenes of religious ceremony. Some of the earliest carvings are at least 8000 years old.
