I was DELIGHTED when my Upcycling Project Pack arrived from the Altered Element. Inside was this: A delightful piece of vintage cotton fabric which is very familiar to me. It is a Sanderson print of William Morris' 'Chrysanthemum'. Sanderson bought a lot of William Morris designs from his estate and faithfully reproduced them for years. Based on a paper discovered by English Heritage in Brooke House in Hackney, East London – the second in this collection – it features a simple Arts & Crafts inspired floral design. The building once housed a private hospital and this design takes its name from a Dr John Monroe – one of the owners. Shown here in the Night Flower colourway of blues and orange.
