Interactive math notebook freebie. The coordinate plane!

I used these interactive notebook pages during my linear functions unit. Student's had a pretty good understanding of slope and did not need a lot of review. First, we watched the "Adventures of Slope Dude" on YouTube to review the four different types of slope. We also went over this pinwheel that I created and taped it down in our notebooks. I did have students choose four different highlighters to highlight the graphs on the pinwheel. They used these colors throughout the lesson and…

Order of operations foldable interactive notebook activity

UPDATE: I posted instructions on how to set up the flip-book at the bottom of the post. This post is an idea for an Angle Relationships foldable. I love making flip-books that fit in student's notebook for so many reasons! I made the flip-book last year and the wheel a couple of weeks ago. For the wheel, you can pick up some brads for less than \$2 at Walmart (200 in a pack). I will probably make copies of the Angle Relationships flip-book on white paper so students can color code their notes…

Algebra 1 word wall for linear equations. With references for slope, y-intercept, x-intercept, origin, grid, graph, table and x and y axis, this word wall is a great addition to your Algebra 1 classroom.

Here are my latest interactive notebook entries over functions, relations, and slope from my Algebra 1 classes. If you haven't noticed, I love the Frayer Model for vocabulary. It has become one of my go-to entries for the interactive notebook. I started out the year with miniature Frayer Models. Not anymore. I like to take up the entire page. My favorite part is the example and non-example boxes. The more Frayer Models we complete, the more my students want to create their own examples and…

After factoring polynomials, my Algebra 1 students finally moved onto solving equations. Again, I approached this unit in an entirely diffe...
