We also read The Little Red Hen and did a little writing activity with it. We decided if we would help the little red hen, which I thought everyone would say yes, of course, but we had a few that refused to help. I absolutely LOVE this little girls response as to why she would not help the little red hen.

...that's what I call a duck! this is a great little "pictorial make-it" site, with plenty of ancillary info - songs, books, etc! Also, links to add'l animals! ;) ...I like cute, but I LOVE activities that littles can actually DO, that still bear a resemblance to their namesake! Yay!!

Great opportunity to talk about what grows on trees (I see bananas in the picture), bushes, in the ground. Maybe even use an old kids pool.
