Poster produced for British Railways (BR) to promote rail travel between England and Scotland on the East Coast route, which passed through Berwick-on-Tweed, Northumberland. The poster shows a steam locomotive crossing the Royal Border Bridge over the River Tweed, which was opened by Queen Victoria in 1850. The artist Terence Cuneo (1907-1996), was commissioned by British Railways to paint this as one of a series of paintings promoting the railways journeys to York, Newcastle and Berwick…
