Great use of numeracy and shapes foe early math activities.

A, Bee, C, Preschool: Building Shapes. Kindergarten readiness: Colored craft sticks are labeled with the number of sides each shape has, ie: 3 purple sticks - triangle. The children will choose a color and build the matching colored shape from the sticks.

Numicon on

I ❤️ Numicon. The tactile and visual element it adds to number is fantastic. At the moment in Reception we are really just at the exploration stage, so I've but putting the numicon out with the pai.

This activity could be used with words also- words are given a $ amount and students have to write sentences or paragraphs trying to create the most expensive sentence! Great way to get reluctant kids to write or engage students who like math.

Numeracy game/spelling game Great idea, I teach math and science, I am going to replace spelling words with vocabulary words.
