Bekonscot Model Village and Railway — a great family day out near London. Forget Legoland, this is *awesome*. An idealized England of little villages and steam trains, set in the 1930s, and all miniature. Princess Elizabeth (as in, the Queen today) was one of its first visitors in the pre-war years. Well worth the trip by train from London. My American son adored it when he was little, and he still admits to loving it now.
