Zap It.a game I learned in grad school. Put high frequency words on sticks (these are foam sticks) and write zap it on a few sticks. The kids pull sticks from a container and read the words. If someone gets Zap It, all of the sticks go back in the bin.
Spelling practice- beads and pipe cleaners. This would be good word work for sight words too. Or could hot glue pictures to end of pipe cleaners and have students spell the words for each picture using the beads.
Another pinner said Seusstastic Classroom Inspirations: Word Work. Students place the lily pad "sight words" or any word families around the room and say them as they hop on each word. I can see adapting this for any math skill as well!
