Many of the Land Girls left their homes to work the land and feed the nation during wartime shortages and rationing. The members of the Women's Food and Farming Union (WFU) are campaigning to have their efforts recognized. The WFU wants to build a memorial garden at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to honor the WLA.
