History: In the Genocide, hundreds of thousands of Tutsi were killed by the Hutu. Some of these bodies are shown in the photograph above. Violence erupted in result of favoritism from Belguim-which ruled Rwanda in 1919-of the Tutsi. The Hutu protested against the Tutsi monarchy and soon Tutsi killed one of the Hutu leaders. Fighting broke out, and the Hutu murdered many Tutsi. Around one million people were killed in the genocide.
