Chrissy Norman - Artist & Printmaker - Etchings of Suffolk - Trees

iamjapanese: “ Chrissy Norman(British) London Plane “A partner to Silver Birch, Winter this image was inspired by a tree I spotted whilst visiting Tate Britain one November.

This little church was once called St. Luke Baptist Church but nicknamed Little Zion.It was built by and for the African American slaves in 1883.The land was once part of the Cleona Plantation. It became abandoned in the early part of 1970.The pastor retired and the people started attending other local churches. Taken in Chackbay Louisiana.

I don't know why abandoned churches fascinate me. Perhaps it's the architecture, or tecture, or wondering what special things went on there 'in the day.' [The Untold Stories of Abandoned Houses – Photography Showcase]
